Deerwalk is pleased to announce the 2.9.0 release of Makalu. This release includes the following key features:
Financial Analytics - Group Summary Report
After the implementation of the new Makalu dashboard in the 2.7.0 release, the Group Summary Report was removed from the dashboard. This report displays an overview of membership, spending and total risk score by group. It has been moved to the Financial Analytics module (previously Care Analytics) with this Makalu release.
Ability to search for blank/null data
With this Makalu release, functionality has been added to allow a user to filter for blank/null information in a field. This new filter is named "Missing" and has been added for fields where blank or null information might exist.
Rolling vs. Historical Cohort Creation
The logic used in the member Cohort has been modified with this Makalu release. Previously when a user saved a group of members as a cohort, the “from” and “to” dates used to pull the members for the initial cohort remained the same month after month. When the data in a client’s Makalu application was reprocessed the cohort was re-run to add/remove members with the same from date/to date from the month before. If members terminated or become active they might have been missed in updating the cohort.
With the new logic in this release, if the user does not select a from and to date range when pulling members for the initial cohort idnetification, the cohort will be treated as "rolling". This means that each time the cohort query is run the status will be calculated based on the current cycle end date.
If any effective "to date" is backdated before the current "cycle end date" the cohort will be marked as "historical". In these cases, each time the data is refreshed the original dates saved when the cohort is created will be applied to updating the cohort.
MARA 3.0 Upgrade
Milliman’s MARA model in Makalu was updated to the 3.0 version with this release. Two new risk scores, "ER" and "Other", were added. The risk condition descriptions displayed in the MB500 pie chart under Clinical Parameters was updated with the latest Milliman condition list.
