Deerwalk is pleased to announce the 1.9 release of Makalu, a data analytics platform. This release includes the following key features:

Multi-level aggregation (LOA) in Care Analytics and Care Quality

With the implementation of Multi-level aggregation Makalu 1.9 now has capability to filter Care Analytics reports by multiple levels. On the Care Analytics filter (CA102) and Care Quality Filter (QR100) we’ll be able to support multiple levels of filtering based on client defined fields and hierarchies. Besides LOA implementation this release also includes the handling of Member switching in LOA for the Care Analytics reports.

Expansion of "participation" functionality – Risk Analysis

For clients who opt to bring program participation information into Makalu, the Makalu 1.9 release will add functionality that allows users to identify members who are participating in a specific program such as Diabetes Disease Management or Case Management and to use that information in filtering and reporting on members in their Makalu population. The “participation” functionality in this release is further added to Risk Analysis module allowing clients an expedited option for comparing results for those members participating in a program to those not in a program. Participation information for clients using both Makalu and our Everest care management product will be integrated, and clients using an external care management system will be able to feed participation information into their Makalu application on a scheduled basis.

Quality Metrics Library

By moving Quality Metrics into Cascading framework, Deerwalk is now able to rapidly deliver new sets of Quality Metrics. It also allows us to more easily create integrated unit tests of our metrics to ensure the highest quality. For 1.9 we have released following sets of new Quality Metrics.
