Makalu 2.6.0 Release
January 31, 2013
Deerwalk is pleased to announce the 2.6.0 release of Makalu. This release includes the following key features:
New User Interface
Makalu 2.6.0 has a new look and feel. A dark blue background has been added to the screens. Instead of having a series of modules separated by individual tabs, like functionality has been grouped into sections such as “Search” which includes the functionality previously found under Data.
Search and Member Search.
In Care Analytics, found under the new “Report” section, the left hand menu of reports can be collapse and is now swipeable. The Top 20 Reports now displays the report and associated graph on the same page. The description of the report has been moved from the report itself to an informational bubble the user can click to view.
Trending & Comparison Feature
A new feature in Makalu allows users to compare different groups of members to each other using a number of existing Makalu reports. User can compare multiple group/cohorts of members side by side at the same time. The functionality allows users to drilldown on the information and by clicking on a report metric, trending for the metric month by month for the last 12 months displays. Trending and comparison information can be shown in graphs and exported to Excel. A video on how to use this new functionality is included in the Makalu 2.6 release.
Create Cohort in Data Search
This new feature allows the user to do a data search on any data type and create a cohort of members based on the result of that query. On the CL200M page the user is given the option now to view members related to the claims. When the user clicks the “View Members” button they are taken to Member Search for the distinct list of members from their Data Search. They can then create a cohort of those members. The saved cohort can be used as a filter for pulling data through-out Makalu.
Configuration Dollar Amount in Healthcare Trend
The Healthcare Trend report in Care Analytics previously allowed the user to sort the results based on whether the member had total spending of less than $10,000 or greater than $10,000. With the 2.6 release, the user can now set theirown total spending dollar filters.
