Member Health Profile

Deerwalk is pleased to announce the 1.0 release of Yala, a member portal. This release includes the following key features:

The Health Profile is available for a member to view as a part of a completed HRA. When a user pushes the "complete" button in the HRA, the Health Profile is generated. For clients who use both our Yala and Everest products, the completed HRA and associated Health Profile are visible for members in Yala and for clinical users in Everest.

The body of the Health Profile is divided into 5 sub-sections described in more detail below:

Areas Effecting Health

This section helps the member to know how the areas of life are affecting their health and well-being, based on answers they entered in their HRA.

Personal Health Characteristics

The information for the health characteristics come from answers in the HRA for biometric type questions. The actual value for the measure is pulled from the corresponding field in the HRA. If the member has not entered a value in the HRA, the bar graph for that measure will be empty as there is no value to display. If the member has taken the HRA on more than one occasion, both the most recent results and the prior results are displayed, allowing the member to quickly identify if they are progressing toward meeting the wellness goals.

Condition Health Risk

In this section, an individual’s risk factors for developing specific conditions according to age, gender, ethnicity and other conditions identified in the Health Risk Assessment are discussed. The members can lower some of their risks by making changes in their lifestyle but they have no control over some risks such as "parents having diabetes".

Health Adjusted Age

The Health Adjusted Age is designed to show how member longevity may be affected by things like lifestyle, race, gender and health conditions. Members can use it as a baseline as they begin to implement changes in their lifestyle and management of medical conditions, periodically taking the test again to see if their prospective longevity has improved as their overall health has. The client can configure whether to show or hide Health Age for members in Yala Admin Console.

Results & Recommendations

This section of the Health Profile examines eight areas of health. These include:

  • Heart Health
  • Life Satisfaction
  • Nutrition/Weight
  • Physical Activity
  • Routine Health Care
  • Safety
  • Stress
  • Tobacco & Alcohol Use

For each area there is a general overview paragraph, a “You reported” section which summarizes the answers the member gave in the HRA related to the topic, a “Next steps section which helps the member decide on action steps to take to improve their health and a “Track your progress” section.
